Founded in 1992, the Golf- & Landclub Karwendel e.V. is located in the southern Werdenfelser Land in the immediate vicinity of the natural recreational oasis of Wallgau. The course borders directly on the wild river landscape of the Isar, the view sweeps over the Karwendel mountains in the east, the broad face of the Wetterstein and the Zugspitze in the south-west to the peaks of the Estergebirge in the north-west. Despite the mighty giants, the ambience is pleasant and calming. A serene tone prevails in the square and everything breathes harmony that rests within itself. The former riverbed is relatively flat due to its natural state and has almost no trees. The alluvial land led to three river terraces, which are integrated into the fairways. This gives the course a Scottish character. The Isar has created natural obstacles for golfers over thousands of years.
